How to take care silk fabric and finished products:
Washing: hand washing is advice, silk is a natural protein fiber, so do not use harsh detergents that contain bleaches or brighteners - use only PH neutral detergents. Soaking silk for any more than a few minutes should be avoided.
Drying: Do not wring or twist, roll in towel to extract water. Avoid drying silk in direct sunlight. Either hang the silk scarf to dry, it will hold its shape or put the silk scarf between two white towels and let it dry horizontally by itself. Wet silk may yellow in direct sunlight or on a radiator. We do not recommend drying silk in a clothes dryer since it can damage the scarf. Ironing: always iron the scarf when wet/humid using medium settings or cool iron setting ("Silk" setting on the iron or 2 points - 100 temperature to 150 temperature). Too much heat can dull or burn silk fabric, do not iron for a long period of time. If the scarf is dry, vaporize it with water before ironing. Do not wet locally as this may cause rings. Most wrinkles in silk can be removed by hanging the scarf in the bathroom during a shower. Let the humidity do the ironing for you! Storage: keep the scarf rolled instead of folded so the fibers do not suffer for a long period of time. If the scarf should be kept for a long period of time, avoid direct light and insects, avoiding, as well, plastic bags, so the fibers can breath.
